Compounding Pharmacy Assistant

As the Pharmacist Assistant, assist with the technical functions of compounding prescriptions, delivering pharmacy services, and participating in the maintenance and operations of the Pharmacy, providing superior, timely, and caring service to customers.

This role will report directly to the Pharmacy Manager.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Executing non-sterile compounding (preparing, packaging, and labeling) and maintaining workflow in the lab
  • Receiving orders for supplies and stocking and maintaining inventory in lab
  • Preparing and submitting orders (e.g. medications, special orders) with the exception of controlled drugs and narcotics
  • Managing incoming faxes and answering telephone, ensuring that appropriate telephone etiquette is observed at all times, and referring to a Pharmacist when necessary
  • Filing completed documentation
  • Generating reports as required
  • Performs receiving and stocking of incoming inventory and supplies.
  • Conducts inventory audit counts.

Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy Assistant diploma
  • Minimum 1 year experience working as a pharmacy Assistant preferably in a compounding pharmacy
  • Experience using Kroll
  • Attention to detail
  • Proficient in math and basic science
  • Must be able to manage changing priorities and work in a fast-paced pharmacy environment
  • Great time management and organizational skills
