Corporate Accountant

The Corporate Accountant will handle the day-to-day accounting functions as well as support monthly reporting and provide financial information to the leadership team by analyzing accounting data and preparing reports. He/she will be responsible for finance-related tasks that are primarily associated with preparing financial records, assisting with audits and due diligence.

This role will report directly to the Director, Financial Reporting & Analysis and will support and drive results through:

 

Responsibilities:

  • Bachelors degree in account, finance or related field

  • CA, CPA, CGA designation required

  • 2-3 years accounting/finance experience preferred

  • Experience with accounting software

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office

  • Excellent analytical skills and time management skills

  • An excellent knowledge of finance and accounting

  • Highly detail oriented

  • Being adaptable to different working environments and changing environment

  • An in-depth knowledge of Canadian financial laws

Qualifications:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance

  • Own monthly/quarterly/year-end closing reports, journal entries, AP/AR transactions, GL reconciliations

  • Ad-hoc projects

  • Approve and verify receipts, income tax returns, financial statements, ledgers, and other documents

  • Ensure company is complying with the Canadian Tax Act

  • Develop reporting standards and prepare audit reports

  • Prepare financial documents for the government, the organization or other governing bodies

  • Provide accurate, timely, and relevant recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information

  • Great communication skills and able to articulate information
