Chairman, President & CEO

Dalbir Bains founded FGC Health in 2019. Dalbir’s focus is on driving strategy, mergers and acquisitions, organic growth, operational excellence, corporate governance, investor relations and capital raising. Dalbir has worked in executive roles in two large multi-national companies in the media, telecom and retail sectors. Dalbir founded Amenity Healthcare which became a large group of independent pharmacies which ultimately sold to a leading mid-market private equity firm in Canada. Dalbir is a graduate of the University of Manitoba business school and a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Tom VanNatter, B.A Econ, M.Sc

V.P., Acquisitions & Partnerships

With more than thirty years in the Pharmaceutical and Healthcare industry, Tom brings a wealth of marketplace, industry and competitive knowledge to FGC Health. During a 25-year career at Apotex Inc., Tom excelled in the areas of retail sales and sales management focussed on creating value-added strategic business solutions and partnerships. As a Director of National Accounts, Tom managed the relationships with partners including Rexall, Sobeys/Lawtons, Safeway and PharmaChoice with over $300M in gross revenues. Tom looks forward to discussing opportunities with you to work with FGC Health.

Paul Thomson, BSc.(Pharm), RPh, MBA

V.P., Pharmacy Operations & Business Development

Paul, a registered Pharmacist in Ontario and Alberta has 37 years of Pharmacy Operational and Business Development experience. He has held several senior positions with large Pharmacy chains, handling budgets of up to $600m in sales and has increased revenues by up to 27% through mergers and acquisitions. He has Implemented many best practices for Pharmaceutical care in several Pharmacy markets across Canada and through his entrepreneurial, teambuilding and collaborative approach to Pharmacy management he has successfully obtained a competitive advantage in many of those markets. He has also owned his own Pharmacies over the years where he applied a highly professional and service driven interactive approach with his patients through care and compassion. Additionally, Paul also has a wealth of experience in specialty Pharmacy including addictions treatment and Long-Term Care. He holds a Pharmacy degree from Robert Gordon’s University in Aberdeen, Scotland and an MBA from Warwick University in England.

Christine Melnyk, B.A.

Vice-President, People & Culture


With extensive experience in professional services and retail human resources roles, Christine creates, implements, and leads on the People & Culture strategy for FGC Health. She is primarily responsible for building, supporting, and evolving the company’s people programs and services, while helping to shape and engrain FGC’s culture in reflection of our Guiding Principles. Christine provides guidance and solutions focused upon inspiring and enabling our people to do more, and to become more.

Christine’s previous work in establishing the HR foundation for Amenity Health Care led to a natural progression to her current role with FGC Health. Prior to Amenity, her success in driving leadership development at Western Financial Group, BDO Canada, and SAAN Stores Ltd. yielded meaningful outcomes for both individual and organizational performance. This reinforced Christine’s ongoing commitment to partnering with managers at all levels, helping to increase their confidence and skills in leading, engaging employees, and influencing performance.

Dan leads FGC’s business development strategy while providing professional expertise and support to our pharmacy operations. As a seasoned pharmacy professional, Dan understands the value of connecting like-minded independent pharmacy owners to FGC Health. He is passionate about merging efforts to achieve impactful results for pharmacies, their leaders, employees, and consumers. Coming from an entrepreneurial background, Dan shares best practices, market trends, services, and products with pharmacy managers to foster their success.

Dan’s learnings originate from his impressive track record of buying and operating independent pharmacies to deliver top quality care and services to the communities they serve. He has increased safety, efficiencies, and profits throughout his career by focusing upon world-class customer care. Dan now invests his experience and passion to help others succeed in positively influencing individual and community health outcomes.
